new toys

I bought ME (and Beth too) a new toy for my birthday- and I love it. I must admit though I am still learning how to use it - like remembering to turn it off and charge it. (watch your stocking this year, Mom - I just might be sharing my new toy if I really love it as much as I think I will- great way to show off the grandkids!!)

Then there is Riley and her new friend, Chuck. aka Charlie Brown This used to belong to Steve who is her arch nemesis- remember she stole Sponge Bob from him too? Steve can just be walking through and she will attack - we think it is the youngest rivalry- fighting to be momma's baby!! LOL Please notice too, Grandma, she is wearing her new sweater- SHE LOVES IT!! Wears it all the time...hates when I take it off to brush the tangles she has. Look close as it kind of blends with my new clearance heavy cotton blanket. (Do you know this is the FIRST banket I have ever bought? With the crafty gals in my family I have afghans and quilts- no need for a blanket- but this was a great deal- clearance and loved the color!!)

We have started the countdown to FLORIDA.....a month away!!

BRRRR !!

Mom, this pic is for you!! Check out the temperature read on the van - YES that is a #2 !! Jake had a very frosty birthday!! The wind chills were in the negative double digits !!

No school yesterday because of the frigid temps.We went to the oral surgeon yesterday for a second opion after the first nightmare!! (She decided SHE wanted to pull 5 teeth- although the orthodontsist only sent us for one tooth pulled- and charge me $1495 copay.) Sat down, Dr Cardon looked at the xray, the tooth and said " Let's do it NOW!" - gave Koda 3 vallium and a 800 mg Ibuprofen- gave him a few minutes to relax- as you see in the pic - between the drugs and his nerves he was a stitch.
$24 later- (YES, $24 copay NOT $1495 !! and he did what the orthodontist requested!!)

he has a hole in his mouth- couple stitches and barely any memory of the afternon!! He slept had when I got him home for about 2 hours- today a little swollen, sore and chilling for one free day at home. (Sitting on hands so he would not grab at the tools or dentist when it hurt!! LOL )

Happy 13th Birthday, Jakob Tyler Barton!!

I cannot believe you are now a TEENAGER! How the years have flown past!! 13 years ago today the weather was so similar to todays!! Below zero wind chills and snowing and blowing !!

Started with a great BIRTHDAY morning - Koda made the boys breakfast = waffles and sausages while Steve and I watched a movie in bed- Knocked Up- not as good as I had hoped- I really like Katherine Heigl- not her best one out there! Loads of adult content in this one- and not nearly as much humor as I had hoped for!!

Jakob got the game he has been crying for= from us- Call of Duty 4- and YES he can play online with XBOX Live! (on the weekends or when his grades are back up and steady) .

Taking a group of teens bowling this afternoon - wish me sanity!!

Barton & Hamlin moms and kids met yesterday afternoon for some sledding fun!!

The boys all pooled their $$ together to buy 13 mos of XBOX LIVE!! and we bought the router. Now they can also play their Gameboy DS with wi fi.
